Google Notebook

Google Notebook is a productivity tool that lets you clip and save bits of Web pages. It goes beyond bookmarks by letting you acutally keep pieces of the Web pages in your Notebook. Sort of like that news scrapbook you had to make from newspaper and glue in your social studies class. Google Notebook permits clip-as-you go   After clipping, you can organize each Notebook into sections, search notebooks, add your own comments, invite others to collaborate with you, even publish them to the web if you want your notebooks be public.

It requires a download that installs a small icon in the lower right of your browser screen. Click on Open Notebook to start a new Notebook or add to a previous one. It is a useful research tool.

• Make a Notebook as a tguidour guide for an upcoming trip--add maps, restaurants you want to visit, museums, whatever.
• Collaborate on a research project by adding your finds and sharing with others
• Planning a wedding or event--clip the stuff you find on the web and store it in a Notebook. Divide it into sections--Venues, Caterers, Travel, etc.

Zoho Notebook is most similar to Google Notebook. The other services feature various ways to highlight and save Web site clippings. Most require you to download an extension for clipping.
